Blais, Bronnenberg lead PC Swim Team

Backed by Kaitlyn Blais' five first-place finishes, the Panama City Swim Team finished second overall at the Blue Water Bay Invitational on June 15 in Niceville.

Blais notched wins in the 50-meter freestyle, 25 backstroke, 25 butterfly, 25 breaststroke and 25 freestyle to pick up high-point honors in the 8-under age group.

Twelve-year-old Drew Bronnenberg was the high point winner in the 11-12 age group with wins in the 100 freestyle and 50 backstroke.

Cody Bronnenberg, Nicole Blais, Brianna Newsom, Carlee McDonald and Jamie McDonald also competed for PCST.

Bay names Carpenter new soccer coach

Bay High School has named Blythe Carpenter the school's new girls soccer coach. A 1993 Bay graduate, Carpenter coached the Tornadoes' softball program this past spring.

She previously coached girls soccer at Dothan (Ala.) High for two years.
