Four PCST swimmers earn berths in short-course meet

Host Panama City Swim Team outpointed eight other squads in the United States Swimming-sanctioned meet over the weekend at Gulf Coast Community College.

PCST had five individual age-group points champions as swimmers attempted to post qualifying times for the upcoming short-course championships in Nashville, Tenn.

The hosts totaled 857 points to turn back runnerup Bluewater Bay Barracudas.

PCST swimmers Mary McDermott, Matt Bryant, Carlee McDonald and Jamie McDonald will compete on March 17-20 in Nashville.

PCST swimmers earning individual awards over the weekend were: Mike Faulhaber, 1st boys 8-under; Jake Bryant, 5th boys 8-under; Nicole Gazia, 3rd girls 9-10; Jamie McDonald, 4th girls 9-10; Josh Bryant, 1st boys 9-10; Carlee McDonald, 1st girls 11-12; Mary McDermott, 3rd girls 11-12; Sarah McDermott, 4th girls 11-12; Kyle Olstad, 6th girls 11-12; Matt Bryant, 1st boys 11-12; Eve Schnell, 3rd girls 13-14; Kevin Faulhaber, 2nd boys 13-14; Nicole Blais, 1st girls senior; Alyssa Cowden, 3rd girls senior; April Woodrum, 5th girls senior; Beau Brothers, 6th boys senior.
