Hi Everyone,

I'm sure everyone is already aware but PCST will be hosting a meet at Gulf Coast Community College on the weekend of March 4-5.  Please mark your calendars.  This is a big event and our biggest fundraiser of the year.  Last year we had 245 swimmers at the meet.  So... we will need everyone's help to make this a success.
There are a number of areas where we will need help but I want to focus right now on 3 big ones and explain how we will require your help.

1.  Hospitality Room
During a swim meet, the host swim team is responsible for something called the Hospitality Room.  This is a designated area where all of the swim coaches, meet workers & officials can come to relax and eat (no swimmers).  We will need to provide 4 meals -- breakfast & lunch on both Saturday and Sunday.  Joycelyn Simas has graciously agreed to coordinate this for us.  A committee is being formed to help her.  Someone from this committee will likely be calling, emailing or asking you at the pool to commit to bring something for one of these 4 meals.  So please help this committee out by bringing what is needed.  Joycelyn's email address is:  joycelynsimas@earthlink.net if you have a question or would like to help in this area.

2.  Meet Sponsors
We will have expenses of around $3000 to host this meet.  Every year we obtain sponsors to offset these costs.  We gear this sponsorship around 3 levels:  Bronze ($100), Silver ($250), Gold ($500).  PCST has 97 swimmers and close to 60 families or more.  Between all of us there are a lot of connections to businesses and organizations that would be interested in helping to sponsor our meet.  So we need help in obtaining sponsors.  I can provide a letter if you need one.  All sponsors donating at least $100 will be listed on a banner and hung in the pool area at the college.  You may have noticed the one that is there from last year's meet.  Email me (rm1160@knology.net) or call me 249-0858 if I can help.

3. Heat Sheet Ads
This is another form of sponsorship but on a smaller level.  A heat sheet will be prepared for the meet which is basically the program for the meet.  It lists the order of events, heats and swimmers etc.  As another way of raising money we sell ads to go in the heat sheet.  This can be a copy of a business card, a company logo,  a picture of your swimmer with a caption or basically whatever someone wants to put in there.  Vickey Kearns is coordinating our heat sheet (kearnsfour@aol.com).  She will be collecting all of the ads, doing the layout for the heat sheet and then printing them.  The ads are sold using the attached form based on size 1/4 page ($25), 1/2 page ($50) and full page ($100).  All ads for the heat sheet will need to be given to Vickey by Friday, Feb 17th.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help.  Call if you have questions.

Tsunamis,
For the Auburn meet Janice made the following reservations:
The Hilton Garden Inn is very close to the pool the lady said. It's $91.00 per night for standard rooms and $109.00 per suite. She said then suits have two rooms with two queen beds and two TV's a pull our couch. That number is 334-502-3500. I reserved 10 rooms.
The Heart of Auburn is $60.00 per night, and is two doubles and it's 10 minutes to the pool. I did ask about the suites and they have two and three bedrooms but they are $129.00 and $159.00, so I reserved 10 rooms that are just standard. That number is 334-887-3462.
